In the coming years few fascinating construction projects will be implemented in Ljubljana which will change the face of the city.
Objects that will soon change Ljubljana.
Railway station
How exactly will look like the new station in Ljubljana is not yet known. Elea iC, which developed one of the projects, believes that it should look like a bridge over existing routes.
The beginning of construction is already close as the dispute over the proximity to Emonika is almost settled. The project of the new railway station will be financed by the state (DRI) and the Slovenian railways.
LPP building and bus station
Ljubljana refused to transfer LPP from Celovska street to another part of town. So that the renewed bus station is not too noisy and does not interfere with the residential area of the project, it is assumed that the roof of the new building will be landscaped.
Also, in the near future, the nearby neighborhoods near the new bus station on Celovska Street will change dramatically due to the construction of two tower residential buildings and the large shopping center Aleja, in which SPAR will be the anchor tenant and whose construction is nearing completion.
Twin Towers
This is how the project of the Twin Towers (ColoniArchitects Bureau) looks like, which is supposed to be located at the intersection of the Dunajska and Linhartova streets. This is part of the complete transformation of the neighborhoods of the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Center, which will also receive a new large congress hall with 4,000 seats.
The investor will be the Turkish company Dekon. The hotel will be located in the same building, while apartments and business premises in the other. Garages will be located on the four basement floors. It is expected that the construction will end in 2022.
Another bright project is the Northen Gate
The foundation pit for the construction of the Atower Hotel, located opposite the Intercontinental Hotel, has already been dug out. Both hotels form the northern gate of Ljubljana.
It is assumed that in Atower will be twice the number of rooms than in the neighboring hotel. The height of both hotels will be equal and it will beat the image of the gate to the business center of the city. These two hotels are included in the development strategy of Ljubljana, one of the goals of which is to make the city a venue for major business events and congresses.
With the expansion of the exhibition center, it will be possible to host congresses of up to 4,000 participants. Now Ljubljana can host events with the participation of only 2,000 people. MICE is currently one of the most profitable forms of tourism. Hence the desire of the city to expand the offer in the field of business tourism.
Lidl administrative building
Lidl Slovenia plans to build for itself a new administrative building in the area of Pledge. In addition, there will also be located a logistics center, which is supposed to be even larger than the center under construction in Zalec.
The City Council of Ljubljana adopted a municipal detailed plan for the Pledge business zone in October last year. The administrative building will have 14,000 square meters. It was designed by architects from the Elea iC bureau. It should be noted that headquarters are still a rarity in Ljubljana.
Let’s hope that this trend will continue and we will see many more interesting architectural projects of buildings in which the main offices of large companies are located.
Residential house of interesting ellipse shape
The construction of an object unusual for our city is being prepared – a residential building in the shape of an ellipse. it was last year designed by the architectural bureau Sadar Vuga.
The building will be eight-storey with 64 apartments and will be organically inscribed in a small area allocated for construction and will be located on Roska Street in Ljubljana at the foot of the hill with the Castle and overlooking the Golovec district.
An interesting and modern architecture object will appear in our city.
