The architectural bureau Enota has completed the renovation of the Olimia Thermal Spa in the Slovenian town of Podčetrtek.
Olimia thermal spa in Slovenia has got a new look.
The architectural bureau Enota has been working with this wellness center for some time. The thermal spa was the last in a series of projects – the architects themselves initiated its renovation.
Olimia Center was built in the 1980s, so it was necessary to improve it and turn it into a modern spa. First of all, the architects reconstructed the Terme Olimia complex – they tried to harmonize the old building into the surrounding landscape as harmoniously as possible.
When the project was completed, the architects suggested that the investor redo Termalija Family Wellness. Previously, there was an outdoor pool, which in fact almost all the time was closed. Because of the complicated mechanism it was inconvenient to clean the roof.
With its massive construction, the center violated the harmony of the environment, so the Enota bureau made the roof, from afar similar in shape and color to the multitude of village houses typical of this area.
A large number of windows in the ceiling structure solved the issue of opening the roof – now it is not necessary to clean it. All glass parts of the facade are easily removed, so in the summer it resembles a regular canopy.
