Confidence indicator in several sectors at once, according to Statistics Slovenia. However, in the construction sector, this indicator is 28 percentage points higher than the long-term average.

Trade, manufacturing and services faced fall of confidence indicator but it increased in construction. Manufacturing continued to be constrained by uncertain economic conditions, trade by industry competition, construction by the high cost of building materials, and services by labor shortages.

Confidence indicator in construction was 5 percentage points higher than the previous month. The same indicator was 5 percentage points lower than last October and 28 percentage points higher than the long-term average.

The increase in the confidence indicator was influenced by the indicator of expected employment (its value increased by 13 p.p.), while the indicator of the total number of orders decreased by 3 p.p. The uncertainty indicator also decreased, namely by 1 percentage point compared to the previous month and by 4 percentage points compared to March 2022, when its value was the highest (23 percentage points).

Most companies cited the high cost of construction materials in Slovenia as the main constraint (62% of companies, up 4 percentage points from last October), followed by a shortage of skilled workers (53%, up 4 percentage points from last year) and high labor cost. (38%, 5 percentage points more than last year).
