The best countries for child welfare according to the UN

The best countries for the well-being of children.

The UNICEF Children’s Fund has published a study entitled “Environment and well-being of children” assessing the living conditions of children in 43 EU countries. In it, UNICEF analyzed the quality of housing and urban infrastructure, the level of education and the environmental situation in the EU countries.

Now children receive the greatest negative impact from environmental pollution and bad ecology, but the least opportunity to influence this situation. All decisions that affect their lives are made by parents, government, business. Therefore, it is so important that every decision regarding the future of our children be conscious.

UN experts believe that the ideal childhood is a safe and secure home with healthy food, clean water and a loving family. But millions of children, even from the most prosperous countries, do not have these vital things. Poor living conditions irreparably harm the mental and physical well-being of children and their prospects for a happy and healthy life.

UNICEF specialists evaluated the states according to various indicators in three categories: “The world for the child”, “The world around the child” and “The world as a whole”.
The study was conducted according to the following parameters:
1. water and air quality,
2. availability and condition of children’s centers, green and pedestrian areas,
3. quality of housing and public transport,
4. climate change,
5. conscious consumption of natural resources.
